Zabtek POS, for independent restaurants

Your online ordering, $99 a month. Your register, $199.

Your card processing stays yours. Ordering goes on your own website at your own domain, the touch register runs the counter and the screens run the kitchen, all for one flat price per location. We take no cut of a single order, because we are never in the middle of your card payments: online they settle into your own Stripe account, and at the counter they run on the reader you already have.

Built and answered in Ohio by Zabtek Web Solutions, building and hosting business websites since 2005.

The arithmetic

What a month of online orders costs you, six ways.

Your online orders, a month

  • Owner.com Flexible$249 a month plus 5% of what you sell $1,049
  • Owner.com Flat Rate$499 a month $499
  • ChowNow Growfrom $319 a month, billed annually $319
  • ChowNow Launchfrom $229 a month, billed annually $229
  • Zabtek Online Ordering$99 a month, per location $99
  • Square for Restaurants, free plan$0 a month, ordering on Square's own page $0

Every price is from that company's own pricing page on 10 October 2026, and ChowNow's says "starting at". None of them includes card processing, which is where a free plan earns its money: Square's own online card rate on the free plan is 3.3% + 30c against Stripe's 2.9% + 30c, about $64 a month more on $16,000 of orders. Square's ordering page is also Square's. Ours goes inside your own website, on your own domain, through your own Stripe account. Owner.com and ChowNow sit on top of a register you already pay for, and our $199 Full Platform includes one.

  • $99 a month, per location
  • $199 for the whole platform
  • No cut of your sales, ever
  • No contract to sign

Your menu, on your own website.

The $99 plan is the online ordering and everything behind it: the menu, the order types, the payments and the back office. It goes on the site you already have.

The ordering page on a phone: category tabs and a priced menu in the restaurant's own colours.
The menu, in the restaurant's own colours and type.
The item builder on a phone: every topping offers None, Left, Whole or Right, and then Light, Regular or Extra, with the whole and half prices shown.
The half-and-half picker: None, Left, Whole or Right on every topping, then Light, Regular or Extra.
The order status page on a phone: thank you by name, the order number, and a Received, Being made, Ready tracker.
After they order: a tracker that updates itself, from Received to Ready.

Three real screens from the running system. The restaurant, its menu and its prices are a demonstration set made for these captures, not a real customer's.

Inside your own site
Two lines of code put your whole menu and checkout inside a page of your own website, sealed off so your stylesheet and ours never interfere with each other. Your customers never leave your domain. If you would rather not touch your site, you get a hosted ordering page instead, and a floating "Order online" button is a single line.
The builder a pizza menu needs
Sizes, required choices, choice limits, left half and right half toppings, and light, regular or extra on an option, each priced. Prices are worked out on our server, so nothing a browser sends can change what you charge.
Your order types, your names
Pickup, delivery, curbside, or whatever you call them, each with its own fee, minimum order and ready-in time, set per location. Delivery addresses are captured as street, apartment, city, state and ZIP rather than one box people mistype.
Now, or later today
Customers can order ahead for later the same day. Not for tomorrow.
Coupon codes and six ways to pay
Coupon codes that work online. Six payment options you switch on or off independently, from card now to cash at the door.
Pause it when you are slammed
Pause online ordering for a set number of minutes, and mark an item sold out for the rest of the day. Both from your phone, behind the counter, without calling anyone.
Your menu in and out as a spreadsheet
Export the live menu to a workbook, edit it, upload it back, and see exactly what will change before anything is applied. An import is a full sync: anything missing from the sheet is switched off rather than deleted.
Tonight, and the numbers after
A Tonight screen with live orders, in a simple view or a detailed one. Reports by day and by hour, and seven CSV exports: orders, items, categories, options, payments, discounts and staff.
Order again from a phone number
A caller's name and saved addresses come back from their phone number, so the second order is quicker than the first. There are no customer logins and no passwords for your customers to forget.

It goes inside the site you already have.

The back office, the register and the kitchen screen are web pages you sign into at your own address. No app store, no server of your own, no install night, and a new location is a row we add rather than a deployment. It runs on hardware you already own or can buy anywhere, and if the hardware came from us it came at what it cost us. See the whole price, including setup and hardware.

A pizzeria's own website with its own logo, navigation and phone number, and the Zabtek ordering menu rendered inside the page.
Zabtek ordering running inside a restaurant's own page: their logo, their navigation, their colours, their phone number, and the menu and checkout in the middle of it. Two lines of code put it there. The site in this capture was built as a demonstration for it, not a customer's.

Your Stripe account, in your name.

You connect your own Stripe account from the back office, Stripe sets your rate with you directly, and the money goes from your customer to your bank. We never see it, never mark it up, cannot raise it, and carry none of your chargebacks. If you negotiate a better rate with Stripe next year, you keep all of it. If you leave us, your processor does not change.

PayPal and Venmo are there too, if you want them, through your own PayPal account.

What a card costs you
Card onlineOrders placed on your ordering page or through Scan to Pay.
2.9% + 30c
Card at your counterOn your own terminal, at whatever rate you already pay your own processor. We never see it.
not ours

Stripe's own published US rate, shown here so you can see it next to our price. It is an agreement between you and Stripe, in your own account. Zabtek takes nothing per order on either plan, and nothing at all from a card taken on your own terminal.

Card checkout stays switched off until Stripe turns card payments on for your account. Stripe decides that, not us.

At the counter

Keep the card reader you already have.

We sell software. We do not sell card terminals, we do not pick your processor, and we cannot lock you to a brand. Whatever reader is on your counter now, and whatever rate you already agreed for it, carries on exactly as it is. The register records that payment against the order, under whatever name your staff call it, so your totals, your reports and your end of day all add up.

Toast's own terms say its services "may only be used on approved Toast hardware". Clover publishes $179 a month for 36 months on its own devices. We have nothing of that shape. Ours runs in a browser on hardware you already own, and the money never comes near us.

The part that is not automatic.

The reader and the register are two separate things. Your staff run the card on the terminal and enter the amount on the register, and a refund is the register telling them to give it back on that same terminal. Two entries instead of one, and a second place to look on a night that does not reconcile. On Toast or Square the reader is theirs, so the amount crosses over by itself. That is the trade: their reader talks to their register, and both belong to them. If two entries is the wrong trade for your counter, we will say so on the call.

Or take the card without a terminal at all. Scan to Pay puts a code on the register screen, your customer points their phone camera at it and pays into your own Stripe or PayPal account, and you watch it land. The same link is their receipt and it can email itself, so nothing has to be printed.

The Scan to Pay screen on the register: the amount due, a QR code, and a line saying the register is waiting for the customer to pay.
Scan to Pay on the register: what is owed, the code the customer scans with their phone camera, and the register waiting for their payment to land. A real screen with demonstration data.

When you want the counter on it too.

The $199 plan is the same ordering, the same menu and the same reports, with the counter and the kitchen added. One menu change updates the website and the register together, and one report covers the whole day.

The register's topping controls: Left half, Whole, Right half above Light, Regular, Extra, with topping tiles carrying LEFT and RIGHT chips, and a summary listing each half's toppings.
The half-and-half order on the register: Left half, Whole or Right half, then Light, Regular or Extra, each priced, and the ticket summary building itself on the right. This is the screen a pizzeria is buying.
The register ticket: a large cheese pizza with sausage and pepperoni on the left half and mushrooms and peppers on the right, bread sticks, a drink, subtotal, tax and a $51.90 total.
The ticket as it is rung up: the half-and-half pizza spelled out line by line, the tax and the total, then Hold, Send to kitchen or Pay.
The kitchen screen showing all stations: two tickets side by side with wait timers of 22 and 21 minutes, each line tagged KITCHEN or FRYER, and a Done button on each.
The kitchen screen, all stations: tickets oldest first with how long each has waited, the station every line belongs to, and Done to bump it.

All three are real screens from the running system, with the same demonstration restaurant in them.

Staff PINs
An owner or manager sets the device up once. After that it is a PIN pad, and every order is tied to the person who rang it. Five wrong PINs and that staff member is locked out.
Cash, and any card reader you have
Cash with change worked out. A card run on your own terminal, recorded against the order and refunded on that same terminal. Gift card, check, house account or anything else, each under whatever name your staff actually call it.
It keeps working with the internet down
Staff still sign in, ring orders, print kitchen tickets and take cash, and the orders number themselves T1, T2 and so on until the connection comes back. Offline is cash only: no cards, no discounts, no edits to open orders and no refunds.
Kitchen screens, included
Stations for the oven, the fryer and the make line, each seeing only what it makes, plus an expo view of everything. Tickets oldest first with how long each has waited, a chime for a new one, and no charge per screen.
Printing
Receipts and kitchen tickets print from each device through the browser to the printer that device already uses. We do not sell you a printer driver and we do not lock you to a brand.
Drawer counts and a time clock
Open the drawer count with a float, record paid in and paid out with a reason, close and count, and keep what was over or short. Staff clock in and out on their PIN, managers can fix a punch and both the fix and the original are kept, and the hours export to CSV.
Caller lookup
Type a phone number and the name, the saved addresses and the last order come back onto the ticket.
What we charge

We never take a percentage of your sales.

Not at $20,000 a month. Not at $120,000. Not ever.

Orders you take online settle into your own Stripe account, opened in your name. Cards you take at the counter run on the reader and the processor you already have. Either way the money goes from your customer to your bank and we are not in the middle of it, so we cannot take a cut, cannot mark a rate up, and cannot raise one later. Negotiate a better rate and you keep every cent of it. Leave us and nothing about your processing changes.

Toast's Starter Kit begins at $0 a month. Square's free plan is $0 a month. Nobody gives away a point of sale: on plans like those the card processing comes with the software, and a percentage of everything you sell goes to the company that sold it to you. The better your year, the more they make, for as long as you use them.

We charge for software. One flat price per location, the same on the best Friday of your year as on a slow Tuesday in February.

$199 a month per location for the full platform, $99 if you are only taking orders online, and nothing per order on either. Stripe's own published rate is paid to Stripe on top of all three, and that agreement is yours. Toast and Square prices are from their own pricing pages on 10 October 2026.

Worth a call.

  • A counter-led independent: pizzeria, sub shop, taqueria, cafe, bakery, food truck.
  • One to three locations in Ohio or Michigan.
  • Average ticket under $50, with real phone and online volume.
  • Already paying a marketplace a commission, or paying for online ordering on top of a register you also pay for.
  • You want the processor in your own name and your customer list in your own hands.
  • You would rather keep the card reader and the processor you already have.

Not worth your time.

  • Full service, fine dining, bars and breweries. We have no floor plan, no coursing, no seat management, no bar tabs and no bill splitting.
  • Anyone whose main reason to move is loyalty, gift cards or marketing.
  • Mostly card at the counter, with an average ticket over $50.
  • More than about three locations.
  • Anyone who needs stock counts, payroll or table reservations. We are a register, a kitchen and online ordering, and we are not trying to be the rest.
  • Anyone happy with Square. Square's free plan is genuinely good and often genuinely cheaper. We are not going to argue with your spreadsheet.

Fifteen minutes on a screen share. Tell us what you sell in a month and what your average ticket is, and we will do the arithmetic in front of you, including the version where you should stay where you are.

There is no cart on this page on purpose. We would rather talk to you first than take $499 from someone we are the wrong fit for.
